Build / Renaissance Society

Ideas need a shared life.

A developing vision for fellowship, serious conversation, and civic culture, grounded in The Eternal Renaissance.

The purpose of gathering

From solitary reading
to civic friendship.

Books can begin a conversation. People give it a life.

The Society is envisioned as a home for readers who want to gather around serious questions, practice civic friendship, and contribute to the world they share. The aim is a culture in which attention, hospitality, learning, and service have somewhere to take root.

There is no open membership program, chapter network, or event schedule announced here. This page presents the vision and offers a direct way to discuss a gathering.

The dedicated Society website

A place for
the conversation.

The Renaissance Society has a public website introducing its purpose, gatherings in development, and a way to express interest. Dates, venues, and membership arrangements will be announced only when confirmed.

What a gathering can make possible

Conversation

A question worth staying with. People who listen closely enough to understand before answering.

Fellowship

The repeated encounters through which acquaintances become accountable companions.

Contribution

A way for thought to reach beyond the room through teaching, care, stewardship, or a shared local task.

A conversation can begin here

Three questions
for a shared table.

  1. What does a free person need to be able to govern within themselves?
  2. What do we owe people with whom we share a political world?
  3. What should our most powerful tools help us protect and become?
